Characteristics of 荔枝红 (Litchi Black Tea)

Brewing Instructions

Western Brewing Method (Simple & Easy)

  1. Tea Amount: 3-5g (1 teaspoon) per 250ml (8 oz) of water.
  2. Water Temperature: 85-95°C (185-203°F).
  3. Steeping Time:
    • 1st infusion: 2-3 minutes.
    • 2nd infusion: 3-4 minutes.
  4. Strain & Serve: Enjoy as is, or add honey/sugar for extra sweetness.

Gongfu Style Brewing (Stronger & Richer Flavor)

  1. Teaware: Use a gaiwan (100-150ml) or a small teapot.
  2. Tea Amount: 5-7g of tea leaves.
  3. Water Temperature: 90-95°C (194-203°F).
  4. Steeping Times:
    • First rinse: Quickly rinse the leaves with hot water and discard.
    • 1st infusion: 10-15 seconds.
    • 2nd-4th infusions: 15-20 seconds.
    • 5th+ infusions: Gradually increase by 5-10 seconds.
  5. Enjoy multiple infusions: The tea will develop a deeper, richer taste over time.

Serving Suggestions

  • Hot: Best enjoyed on its own, or with a bit of honey for extra sweetness.
  • Iced: Brew stronger, then chill and serve over ice for a refreshing summer drink.
